UCEED 2027 · 17 January 2027

UCEED COCHING IN DELHI
UCEED (Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design) is conducted by IIT Bombay for admission to the B.Des programme at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Roorkee and IIITDM Jabalpur. Over 40 other institutes, including DTU, Anant National University and MIT WPU, also accept UCEED scores. UCEED 2027 is scheduled for 17 January 2027 — with a limited preparation window, a structured plan matters more than long hours.
Exam at a Glance

UCEED 2027 at a Glance

Part B answer sheets are evaluated only for candidates who clear the Part A cut-off — which is exactly why our program never lets students treat sketching as an afterthought. A strong Part A score is your ticket to getting Part B checked at all.

The Difference

Why Students Pick Design Launcher for Online Coaching for UCEED

Most coaching institutes in India run UCEED batches as a side offering attached to their NID or NIFT programs, with 40–60 students per class and rotating freelance faculty. We built Design Launcher differently, and it shows in how our online coaching for UCEED actually runs day to day.

You learn from people who cleared the exam

Every mentor at Design Launcher is an alumnus of IIT, NID or NIFT. The person reviewing your Part B sketch has sat in that exam hall, managed that one-hour clock, and knows what IIT Bombay's evaluators reward: proportion, composition and a clear idea over decorative rendering.

Batches stay at 6–8 students

In a batch this small, hiding is impossible — and so is being ignored. Your mentor knows exactly which of the six Part A topic areas you are weak in by week three, not month three.

Live classes, not recorded lectures

Interactive video sessions where you can interrupt, ask, and get your doubt solved in the same sitting. Every session is recorded for revision, but recordings supplement live teaching — they never replace it.

Owner-run, not franchise-run

The founders teach. There is no franchise owner from an unrelated business managing your batch, and no random tutor hired by the hour.

Sketching feedback within 48 hours

Every drawing assignment you upload gets marked-up, personalised feedback on line quality, perspective and storytelling within two days. Generic "good work, keep practicing" comments don't improve ranks; specific correction does.

Study From Anywhere

What Makes This the Best Online Coaching for UCEED Aspirants Outside Delhi?

If you live in a city without a serious design-entrance institute, you have two options: settle for a generalist local academy, or study online with specialists. Students from across India join our online batches precisely because the online experience is not a diluted version of the classroom one.

Updated to the Current Pattern

UCEED Syllabus We Cover — Part A and Part B

Our curriculum mirrors the official IIT Bombay syllabus and is updated every October when the new information brochure releases. UCEED changed significantly from 2025 onwards: Part B now carries two questions worth 100 marks with a full hour, and MSQs carry negative marking — so preparing from old-pattern material actively hurts your score.
PART A

Computer-Based Test

200
Marks

Computer-based exam with NAT, MSQ and MCQ questions. Negative marking applies to MSQ and MCQ. The following six topic areas are covered:

Visualization & Spatial Ability

2D/3D transformation, orthographic views, isometric understanding

Observation & Design Sensitivity

Concealed properties, critical perception, aesthetic sensitivity

Environmental & Social Awareness

Sustainable design, art/design history, social responsibility

Analytical & Logical Reasoning

Patterns, series, puzzles, coding-decoding, structured thinking

Language & Creativity

Comprehension, creative writing, verbal analogy, storytelling

Design Thinking & Problem Solving

Real-world problems, creative solutions, user-centric design

PART B

Drawing & Design Aptitude

100
Marks

Two drawing questions evaluated manually by IIT examiners. Answer sheets checked only if you clear Part A cut-off. Six-step progression:

1

Line Quality & Freehand Drawing

Master clean, confident strokes — straight lines, curves, circles and ellipses without rulers.

2

Perspective & Proportion

One-point and two-point perspective, foreshortening, maintaining correct proportions.

3

Product & Object Sketching

Draw everyday objects from memory — form, contour, material representation.

4

Human Figure Drawing

Proportional figures in action poses — construction, gesture drawing, age and expression.

5

Composition & Storyboard

Frame arrangement for visual storytelling, sequential design problems.

6

Timed Design Solutions

Solve complete Part B questions under one-hour exam conditions.

Timeline · Month by Month

How We Recommend You Prepare for UCEED: A Realistic Timeline

This is the plan our mentors — all UCEED/CEED/NID exam qualifiers themselves — give students who ask “when should I start?” Students who follow this arc typically see Part A mock scores climb 40–60 marks between their first and final mock. The single biggest score-killer we see? Ignoring Part B until December. Don’t.
1
12+ Months Out

Foundation

Build sketching skills from the ground up. Daily 30-minute freehand practice. Start Part A topic familiarisation with NCERT-level reasoning and visualisation exercises. No mock tests yet — focus on skill development and building observation habits. Watch design documentaries, study product forms and begin a daily visual diary. This stage determines your ceiling.

2
6–9 Months Out

Topic Mastery

Systematic topic-wise study of all 6 Part A areas with 2–3 sessions per week each. Part B moves to timed sketches — 30-minute product and perspective drawing exercises. Begin sectional tests to identify weak areas. Your Part A mock scores at this stage should climb from ~80 to ~120 with consistent effort.

3
3–4 Months Out

Mock & Refine

Full-length mock tests every weekend under exam conditions — laptop-based for Part A, one-hour timed for Part B. Detailed performance analysis after each test. Target 140+ in Part A consistently. Part B focus shifts to composition, storyboarding and timed design solutions. Refine speed without losing quality.

4
Last 4 Weeks

Final Sprint

Revise high-weightage Part A topics. Attempt 2–3 full mocks per week. No new topics — consolidate what you know. Memorise key formulas, patterns and design principles. For Part B, practice the exact 2-question format with one-hour limits. Sleep schedule, exam-day strategy and stress management become priorities.

Meet Your Mentors

Design Launcher was founded by alumni of IIT, NIFT Delhi, NIFT Mumbai and NID who chose teaching over industry roles because they saw how badly franchise-model coaching was serving design aspirants. Between them, our core faculty carries 10+ years of teaching experience and has mentored 300+ selections across UCEED, CEED, NID and NIFT, with students securing All India Ranks under 100 every year.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes — provided the online program includes live classes, timed mock tests on the computer-based format, and personal review of your Part B sketches. UCEED Part A is itself a computer-based exam, so practicing online mocks actually mirrors exam conditions better than paper practice. Several of our top ranks in recent years came from students in our fully online batches.

Only alumni of IIT, NID and NIFT who have personally cleared design entrance exams with top All India Ranks. We do not use freelance or rotating faculty.

For UCEED 2027 (exam on 17 January 2027), a serious start by June–July gives you a comfortable runway; our crash course covers late starters from September–October onwards. Class 11 students targeting UCEED 2028 should join the two-year foundation program to build sketching skill gradually, which is far less stressful than compressing it into one year.

₹25,000–30,000 for the 3–4 month crash course, ₹45,000–50,000 for the one-year program, and ₹60,000–65,000 for the two-year foundation. Online and offline fees are identical, and early enrolment carries a 10% discount.

Yes. UCEED is open to Class 12 students and pass-outs from any stream. Do note that a few participating IITs (such as IIT Guwahati and IIT Roorkee) admit only students with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, while IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi and IIT Hyderabad accept all streams. We factor this into your counselling plan.

Both are design entrances, but UCEED (by IIT Bombay) is a single-day exam with a computer-based Part A and drawing-based Part B, leading to B.Des at IITs. NID DAT has two stages — Prelims and Mains (studio test + interview) — for the National Institute of Design campuses. Their syllabi overlap heavily, which is why our programs prepare you for UCEED, NID and NIFT together at no extra cost.

Yes. Every program includes solved UCEED previous year papers, topic-wise practice sets, and a full-length mock test series built on the current 300-mark pattern, followed by one-on-one analysis sessions.

A candidate can attempt UCEED a maximum of two times, and only in consecutive years. This makes preparation quality on your first attempt especially important.

Yes, in Part A. MCQs carry −0.71 per wrong answer and MSQs carry a −1 penalty with partial marking rules; NAT questions have no negative marking. We dedicate specific strategy sessions to attempt-selection because careless MSQ attempts are one of the most common rank-killers.

Yes. Rank analysis, preference-list building for IIT joint counselling, and application guidance for the 40+ UCEED score-accepting institutes are included in every program.
